Getting soaked in waterfalls and feeding elephants - Trip to Thailand part 2

Climbing the waterfalls and swimming in the pools made by them was one of my favorite things in the trip. All the things to do with nature, the breathtaking scenery and the animals are just so much better than dusty museums and temples. We did visit those too, and of course it's interesting to see some cultural things, but none of the man made things could rival nature in captivating me and elevating my spirit.
And people, you guys, people! They are great and beautiful. So my top three travel attractions are nature, people and food ;)

Ah, I really got in the mood for traveling again. After Indiana was born it hasn't been a priority, not even of much interest. But this trip went so well with her, she was a great travel companion and she was having such a great time too, that it ignited that spark in me again. I know it's not great for the environment though. Taking fewer but longer trips would help reduce flying... which is a pain anyway.

One thing I can say is this: I'm so glad that we are not too far from spring! Granted, it doesn't look like that when I look out of my window right now. But a couple of months from now is Easter, and then  it's almost summer again. As much as I am for living in the moment, I would be lying if I denied that the winter up here is just too long for me and that didn't long for the spring to come. I love winter for a month. But last year we had snow for SIX MONTHS. It gets to me big time.

Next up for our family is checking out our friends' apartment and seeing if we could move in there. If I we move there and I get Indi in the church club for some hours in a week, I might have the time and energy to start thinking about painting again. I have some vague thoughts and ideas about it.. and they are different.

If you are wondering how my exhibition went - it was fine. People seemed to like it. I sold paintings for 6400 euros which meant that after gallery rent and commission I was left with less than  500 euros. LOL! At least I MADE something instead of just PAYING to have a show which was a real risk. You have to sell quite a bit to  actually make some money. Such is the business of having gallery shows.

Bye for now you beautiful souls.

I adore all those little "glamour" shots of Indi like a 30s star, she's so photogenic! Very sweet. I also love her bathing suit and crochet hat, great outfit :) Most of all I love her absorption in play, that is priceless.

Toivottavasti asunto olisi sopiva!

wonderful!
you know vappu . . .
I think there is a book in you.
maybe even for children. either illustrated by you ~ there is something mystical and childlike about your art ~
or even a book about a beautiful little girl named Indiana who has marvelous adventures! then you could teach children ~ in the best way ~ by entertaining them ~ that nature is the important thing ~ and valuing it always.
just some sunday morning thoughts here! going on too long. lol.
hugs from across the great sea,

Thanks everyone for your comments again!

Little Miss Kmow-it-all: I know, it was beautiful how she was so immersed in play, totally happy talking and playing by herself.. I should crochet her a new hat soon because this one is getting small and it faded quit a bit during the vacation.
